

Robert McDowell Hall passed away on August 28,2015. Bob was born in Portland, Oregon to Robert and Edith Hall on April 14, 1923. Bob attended Laurelhurst Elementary School and graduated from Grant High School in 1941. Robert attended Oregon State University for 1 year and then enlisted in the U.S. Army, in December of 1942. Robert was awarded the Purple Heart Combat Infantry Badge, American Theatre World War II Victory Medal and
European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon w / two bronze battle stars, He also attended 6 months at Army Specialized Training Program. Robert was discharged in 1947 and then returned to Oregon State University, where he earned his Bachelor's in chemistry and met his future wife, Jody
They were married in 1948 at The 1st Christian Church in Portland, Oregon.Robert was the chemist and owner of Griffin Brothers, Industrial Chemicals until he retired. When he was not working helping out on a church committee you could find him at the golf course or a fishing hole.
He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, sometimes delivering food to those much younger than he was.He had a strong faith in the Lord, was generous to others in need and had loved to share the latest joke - sometimes more than once.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Virginia. He is survived by son Ron (Kay) Hall of Portland, Oregon, daughter, Vicki (Mike) Thoma of Woodland California, grandchildren, Megan (Ryan) Conaty, Whitney Hall, Chris Thoma, Ryan Thoma and great granddaughter, Alice Conaty. Thoma and great granddaughter, Alice Conaty.
