He was raised by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Krueger and grew up in Portland with his brother Keith and his sister, Linda. He attended Hinson Memorial Baptist Church when growing up and later in life enjoyed watching Pathway to Victory and Christian Worship Hour on television. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1957 and attended Multnomah College for a time before entering the Air National Guard, Support Squadron. After seven years he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargeant.
Robert had one son Scott, and two step-daughters Susan and Debbie with his first wife, Carol. We lost Scott in a tragic accident that devastated Robert and all family and friends. It is something that Robert never truly got over.
He then met Cathy at the beach in Oregon and they were married in 2002 in Las Vegas after a long engagement. Cathy has two sons, David and Chuck and a daughter Amber by a previous marriage.
Robert owned and managed Krueger Automotive, a business his father started in 1938.
Cathy and Robert enjoyed reading daily devotions together. Robert was very sentimental and had a great memory and conversations of past experiences. He felt blessed and was full of appreciation for most of his experiences in life. Although he missed his son Scott so greatly, he tried to go with things he enjoyed; soaking up the sun on the beach, riding in his convertible, camping and road trips with family. He loved visiting with people and enjoyed family get togethers.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father, Raymond and Margaret Krueger, and his son Scott. Robert leaves behind his wife Cathy, a brother and sister and several other beloved family members. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. Robert will be missed dearly by all who knew him and loved him.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.
