Bob was professional musician, bugling his way through college at the Portland Meadows and Multnomah Greyhound track, playing trumpet in The Portland Symphony and on double bass in big bands and combos. He graduated from Lewis and Clark College and shared his life long love of music as a teacher in Oregon City for 31 years. He always said, "If you have learned to make music, you will never hear music in the same way."
He was pilot, receiving his license at 16, mastering complicated stunts before he truly knew how to land his plane. As a young man he played high school baseball. He loved ice skating and downhill skiing. He was an avid bowler and at one point belonged to 5 different leagues while golfing during the weekends.
He proudly served for nine years in the 234th Army Band of the National Guard. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Oregon City Elks #1189. Robert loved to travel with his wife, especially to Germany and Mexico, always supporting their local music scenes.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Myrtle, his daughters Sandi Langman (David Corboy) and Carla Glavine (Mike), and his very special dog, Lucy Tu.
