

Bob was born on June 23, 1929 in Fort Frances, Ontario to Albert (Mac) and Doris McKelvie.
After graduation from Fort Frances High School in 1946 he went to work for the Ontario-Minnesota Pulp and Paper Company. In 1968 he was transferred to Portland, Oregon with Boise Cascade and worked as an accountant and Financial Analyst until he retired in 1991. During his employment he made many trips back to Fort Frances and Int’l Falls to work on major construction projects.
On July 12, 1952 he was united in marriage to Mary Yurchuk at St. John’s Anglican Church in Fort Frances and remained married for over 62 years.
After retirement Bob continued with consulting work in the paper industry and enjoyed counseling small businesses through SCORE.
His hobby pursuits were gardening and fine furniture construction. He built many lovely pieces for both his own home, his daughters and friends. Bob and Mary enjoyed traveling and took several enjoyable cruises.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Don and Fred.
He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Brenda (Dennis Grannen) of Las Vegas, NV and Maureen (Bruce Thompson) of Tucson, AZ, sisters-in-law Hetty Walker of Pembina, N.D. and Connie McKelvie and Donna McKelvie both of Fort Frances as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Canadian or American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
