John served in the Navy on a submarine during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2006 from BNSF Railroad after working 30 years as a car inspector.
John is survived by his wife, Kathy, of 50 years. His daughter, Sara, and son Zack of Los Angeles. Sister Janet Stark (Richard) of Medford, and three nephews and one niece.
Private burial at Willamette National Cemetery.
