Rosalyn Marie Laplace

Rosalyn Marie Laplace passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the age of 79. Daughter to John and Helen Staatz, Rosalyn (known to most as “Rosie”) is survived by Ernest Laplace, her husband of 60 years, her daughter Tina Kvavle, son-in-law Brand Kvavle, granddaughter Natasha Kvavle, siblings Marguerite Burns, Phil Staatz and Jim Staatz, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John Staatz, Jr., and sisters Marian Dike, Barbara Brisack, and Joanne Barker.

A graduate of Jefferson High School in Portland, Oregon, Rosie prided herself on her organizational and bookkeeping skills. She most enjoyed working side by side with her best friend Karleen Cadieux at the Whiz Burger and Sandwich Experience, followed by her role as a bookkeeper at Shenanigans Restaurant.

Rosie loved spending time with friends and family, gathering at local restaurants like Sayler’s Old Country Kitchen. Common vacations included trips to the Oregon Coast, playing the slots in Reno, and journeys to the East Coast to spend time with extended family. A fan of all things pink, the Golden Oldies, maintaining a spotless home, and bargain hunting on eBay, Rosie also enjoyed ritual viewing of local news, NASCAR races, golf tournaments, and many lively game and talk shows.
