

Saramma Devasia was born on September 26th, 1939 to parents N.M. and Sosamma Abraham in Kottayam, Kerala, India. As an adolescent, she studied in a Christian School and she was known to be a shy but very happy child; a favorite of her grandmother. Saramma also had a very British upbringing as well. As an adult she married a wonderful person, named Kalloor Devasia, and came to the US to start their life together. One of Saramma’s proudest moments was when she came to the U.S. to be with her husband of 14 days, after 4 long years.
Saramma enjoyed music, and some of her favorite songs were Yeshuve Rakshadhayaga, Amazing Grace, and O Holy Night. Some of her other hobbies included artwork, stitching, and reading spiritual books. She loved being pampered and to this day she still remembers how her husband carried her in his arms up a mountain.
She is predeceased by her parents, N.M. and Sosamma Abraham and Sosamma, sister, Annama Cherian, brother, Abraham Mathews, sister, Mary Uthup, and brother, Abraham Jose.
Saramma is survived by her loving husband, Kalloor, her son, Renne (Ruby) Devasia, her daughter, Tina (Jason) Streuli, sister, Achamma Thomas, sister, Susy John, sister, Alice (Kurian) Thomas, sister, Chechamma (Abraham) Kuruvilla, sister, Grace (K.P.) Philip, sister, Esther (N.K.) John, grandson, Ander Otto Streuli, grandson, Jaiden Devasia, granddaughter, Natalie Rose Streuli, and granddaughter, Skylar Devasia.
