

Selma Pricilla Case, age 96, of Gresham Oregon, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2015. She was born in Starbuck, Minnesota to Ragna (Myhr) and Christen Christofferson. Selma was the fifth of seven children. When a very young child, her family moved west and settled in Eugene Oregon. She graduated from Eugene High School and received a graphic arts education in Portland. Selma was married to Floyd A. Case (1892-1958). Together they built a sign painting business in Northeast Portland. After Floyd’s death, she worked in various sign shops and at Roosevelt High School. With an unwavering faith, she was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. Selma was a master in the Norwegian folk art of rosemalling. Selma’s deepest joy was being with her extended family. Her gentle and engaging personality attracted a wide circle of friends. Selma is proceeded in death by her parents; her husband; her nephew, Gene Christofferson of Eugene; all of her sisters and brothers: Paul Christofferson of Eugene; Borgny (Christofferson) Rose of Portland; Ruth (Christofferson) Kohler of Gresham; Arne Christofferson of Eugene; Helga (Christofferson) Defoe of Eugene; Clara (Christofferson) Larsgaard of Puyallup, Washington; brothers-in-law Robert Rose and Harold Kohler; and sister-in-law Helen Christofferson. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ladoris Christofferson of Eugene; brother-in-law John Larsgaard of Tacoma; fifteen loving nieces and nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A funeral will be held on Saturday, February 7, 11:00 AM, at Zeller’s Little Chapel of the Chimes, Portland OR.
