She was born to beloved parents in New London, Connecticut. The family moved to Long Beach, California in the Fall of 1959 where she attended middle school high school. Upon graduation the family took a vacation back to Connecticut and it was on this trip that Sue was to meet the love of her life, David. On a blind date arranged by Sue’s cousin, Dave and Sue attended the Graduation Ball of the Officer Candidate School where Dave had just graduated. Over the next months they corresponded and met occasionally while he was assigned to ship duty in the San Francisco Bay Area. In August, 1964 they were married and began a life together full of love and great adventures, including lots of camping and fishing! Sue deeply loved their three children, David Jr., Jill, and Michael. They became wonderful, successful and caring adults with spouses and children of which Sue was very proud.
Sue enjoyed working at Oregon State University and Portland State University until her retirement in March 2004. Sue was persistent in her pursuit of learning, and earned a Bachelor Degree in History at Portland State University in 1999.
Dave and Sue enjoyed many trips to their favorite spots in Mexico, Los Barrilles and Nuevo Vallarta, and had lots of fun sharing exciting travel and camping adventures with family and friends. They were able to enjoy this past Thanksgiving vacationing in Hawaii with their son and daughter-in-law.
An active member of Resurrection Catholic Parish, Sue enjoyed the weekly fellowship of the Women’s Bible Study.
Sue is survived by her husband David of 54 years and her beloved children, David Jr. (Molly) Reggiani, Cordova, Alaska; Jill Reggiani O’Neill, Portland; and Michael (Shelly) Reggiani, Happy Valley; and seven beautiful, talented, and wonderful grandchildren, John, James, and Joseph O’Neill; Brian and Megan Reggiani; and Sophia and Nicholas Reggiani.
