

Tommie Maruis Fulwider left us on June 25, 2024 at the age of 85. He was with his loving family and friends until his final moments. He was a true Renaissance man that filled his life with profound creativity and showed kindness to all he knew.
He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Fulwider and parents Nola and Leonard Fulwider. His legacy will continue through his son Rhett and daughter-in-law Cindy, their three daughters, and five grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Wanda Wood, his brother Jimmie Fulwider, and Sharon O'keefe. Everyone who knew him should honor his spirit by living their lives with the curiosity, creativity and compassion of Tommie.
He walked through life with gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone he encountered with unforgettable grace and friendship. A lover of the arts, Tommie found beauty in all of life's moments and encouraged us all to do the same. Tommie was known for his lavish Christmas decorations and for having a sweet tooth, which he shared with all of us through his confectionery creations. He had an insatiable curiosity for the arts and spent most of his days creating his own masterpieces while listening to his robust classical music collection. His house is a showcase of his life's passions including wood carvings, stained glass, and his grand piano. Above all, he was a true master of oil painting and devoted nearly half of his life teaching this art form to his cherished students. Please join us in celebrating Tommie's remarkable life.
