

Truman Solheim was born to Ed and Olga (Rice) Solheim. Truman married Lois Jean (Nordlum) Solheim. They were married for 55 years and had two children. Truman is survived by children, Cheryl and Todd (Marianne); and granddaughters, Julianne and Caitlynn Solheim.
Truman Gilmor Solheim was born March 06, 1927 in Roome Township, Minnesota to Ed and Olga (Rice) Solheim. He joined the United States Army in 1945 and served in Europe for two years. After discharge he returned to the United States working in various jobs. He then returned to Crookston Minnesota where he worked at Espe’s for 17 years. During that time he met Lois Jean Nordlum and married October 08, 1957. Together they had two children: Cheryl and Todd.
Truman and Lois owned the Dairy Queen in Minnesota and how Cheryl and Todd would sit on the counter and play with the money.
In 1966, Truman and Lois moved their family to Portland, Oregon. He began working at Nabisco in August 1966, working until his retirement in 1986.
Truman then enjoyed watching The Price is Right, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Truman liked to play card games, teaching his two grandchildren to play knock poker.
He lived the last 6 years of life in SE Portland at Hope N’ Care assisted living center. While residing there he found his love of bingo.
Truman was preceded in death by his wife Lois Jean Nordlum Solheim, father (Ed L. Solheim), mother (Olga Rice Solheim), brothers ( Marlow, Everett) and sisters ( Donna, Kay). He is survived by daughter, Cheryl Jean Solheim; son, Todd Truman Solheim; daughter in law, Marianne Solheim; granddaughters Julianne and Caitlynn Solheim and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Truman was not only a hard working person and a connaisseur of playing Bingo and Cards. And his love of ice cream. His stories and memories will not be forgotten.
