

Virginia Lee Drake, age 93, died peacefully at Avamere at Sherwood Assisted Living and Memory Care facility in Sherwood Oregon on Monday, March 14, 2016 after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for many years. Born September 5, 1922 in Clayton Kansas; Virginia (known as Jinks to her friends and family) lived in Clayton Kansas, Medford Oregon and eventually Portland Oregon where she met her husband, Robbert (Bob) Drake and settled in Aloha Oregon to raise a family of 4 children. Virginia worked for the Beaverton School District in may capacities and ended her career as a principal's secretary before retirement. She traveled extensively with friends after she retired, visiting countries all over the world, adding to her extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers. Virginia is survived by her sons Bob Drake of Depoe Bay, Oregon and Barton Drake of Seattle, Washington and numerous grandchildren an great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Robbert Drake in 1966, daughter Barbara Allison (Drake) in 2012, and son William (Bill) Drake in 2015. A private service and burial will be held on March 19, 2016 at Finley Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
