March 1, 1938 – Aug 23, 2024
Virginia Ann Froneberger, born on March 1, 1938, in Gastonia, North Carolina, was the beloved daughter of Mary and David Froneberger. She was a cherished sister to Mae Beth Brooks and a loving aunt to Michelle King and Jerry Brooks. Her legacy continues through her great and great great-nieces and nephews: Brandon Brooks (spouse, Morgan Brooks), Dandre King (spouse, Selicia King), and Nastassja Magee (spouse, Xavier Magee Sr.). She was also a great-great-aunt to Dasia King, Danaya King, Bailee Brooks, Bria Brooks, Xavier Magee Jr., and Benji Brooks.
Virginia was a proud graduate of Highland High School in Gastonia. She pursued higher education at North Carolina A&T, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Her career was marked by 30 years of dedicated service to the United Negro College Fund, where she made significant contributions to the organization's mission.
Among Virginia's many passions was music; she had a deep love for playing the piano. She was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and had a keen sense of style, always enjoying shopping and dressing well.
Her family was the center of her world, and she was deeply family-oriented. The love and support of her family were her greatest joys in life.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Marquis Autumn Hills Memory Care Facility for the compassionate care and precious moments shared with Virginia. A special note of gratitude goes to Paul at the facility—your kindness and support were invaluable, and we appreciate you more than words can express.
Virginia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
