With broken hearts and sadness we wish to inform you that Wayne Sabbak has come to the end of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife and dearest friend, Heather; his son, Noah; and his siblings Dianne Thayer (David), Basil Sabbak, Barbara Smith and Nancy Kiser (Dale). He also leaves nephews Tanner and Basil and nieces Shawn Anne, Katrina and Bailey. All loved him dearly and will miss his love and friendship.
To his family and many friends, Wayne was a true example of kindness, tenacity and playfulness. He made many friends and kept a special place in his heart for each of them. He was more than generous with his time and energy. He set the example and encouraged others to be the best version of themselves. Wayne's playful spirit carried over from childhood into his adult life. He could find the fun in almost anything and his quirky sense of humor was infectious. Bocce ball tournaments and a few cocktails were a favorite way to spend a lazy afternoon. He loved nature and the outdoors and enjoyed exploring mountains, waterways, beaches, State and National Parks and the obscure trail. And, how could we not mention golf? - although he took the game seriously, it was always so much fun to be on the course with him. Even those wayward shots were another reason to have a good laugh. He enjoyed creative cooking and sharing recipes and pictures of his favorite dishes. Of course his number one passion was music; both creating and recording. He played a variety of instruments, built a beautiful and successful recording studio in Santa Barbara and had just completed renovations on a recording studio in Vancouver. He also spent some very creative years building 2 apartment buildings in Spokane WA as well as developed an art curriculum company for children in Durango CO. Wayne was always living and fulfilling his passions through his many business ventures. Even though his last months were hard, Wayne would be the first to say that he had a wonderful life with few regrets. He had no idea how many lives he touched until, upon hearing of his illness, so many friends showed up to offer support in person and remotely. That support gave him strength and peace in his final days. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Family is planning a private memorial service on July 10th in Vancouver WA. Please check back closer to the date for details on livestreaming.
