Wilda Marie Johnson

Wilda Marie Johnson, born May 23, died peacefully September 29, 2011, at the age of 90. Wilda lived at Hawthorne Gardens of Portland, OR, and is predeceased by her husband, Helmer R. Johnson, and her eldest son Steven Shearer of Oakhurst, CA. Wilda leaves behind her three children: Brenda and Randy of Portland, OR and Pamela in Tennessee. She also has ten Grandchildren and ten Great-Grandchildren.

Wilda was born in Colfax, WA, and was one of seven children. She grew up and spent her school years in Bakersfield, CA. She later moved to Portland, OR, where she met and married Helmer (John) Johnson in 1953. Wilda loved listening to music, laughing, being with her family, and having fun with friends. Wilda and her husband especially enjoyed their vacations to Hawaii through the years with family.

Wilda touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor (which earned her the nickname "Wild Wilda" to her friends), all the way to the end.

Wilda's children would like to thank the caregivers at Hawthorne Gardens 2010-2011, and most recently Providence Hospice, whose love, care, and concern helped Wilda through a difficult time.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, 2011, from 9 am - 2 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Portland, OR.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, October 6, under the direction of Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
