

She was born July 8, 1938 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Anna Doelling and Bernard Sauter. She moved with her three (3) siblings to the St. Johns area and attended St. John’s Christian Church. She attended James John Grade School and later graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. Wilma was involved in a number of organizations/activities at Roosevelt including band, Seiddet, Office staff, fire squad, Teddyettes and Y.F.C. (Youth for Christ). She was most fondly known for being a majorette. As a majorette, she marched in the Rose Festival Grand Floral parade.
In 1962, Wilma met Robert (Bob) Boss whom she married. Bob and Wilma shared a loving marriage for over 48 years. They began their life together in a home in Portland, Or. Bob’s job later transferred them to Springfield, Ohio. In November 1965, they welcomed their son Joseph “Joey” Boss into their lives.
Bob and Wilma were homesick for Oregon and they were transferred back to Oregon. In April 1970, they welcomed their daughter Barbara Boss (Wright) into the family. Bob and Wilma have resided in their home in North Portland for over 40 plus years.
Wilma dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was the most important part of her life.
Wilma was an sports fan. Bob and Wilma attended Buckaroo hockey games, watched the Winter Hawks and the Portland Trail Blazers. Wilma joined a weekly bowling league with Bob. Then later joined a company golf league where she won a number of tropheys for her exceptional play.
Wilma was very involved in her children’s activities. She enjoyed being a room mother. She baked cupcakes, put together decorations and prepared games for the class parties. She often was the parent chaperone on class field trips to the zoo or OMSI. She volunteered for other school activities to support her children.
Wilma absolutely adored her grandchildren. She would spend time putting together puzzles, cooking or simply watching children’s videos with them. She would take them to her sister’s farm in Hillsboro while tending to the country store.
We have the comfort of knowing Wilma loved each and every one of us. Wilma was a true blessing to all who knew her. The Lord has received Wilma and although we miss her with each passing day, we know that she is in heaven with the Lord.
Wilma is survived by her husband Bob Boss; her son Joe Boss (wife Donna); her daughter Barbara Wright (husband William); her grandchildren Schuyler and Philip Boss; her sister Patricia Ogden and brother Richard Sauter.
The memorial service was held at 1:00p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the St. Johns Christian Church, 8044 N. Richmond Ave., Portland, OR 97203
