Zella was born on April 30th 1935 to John E Cameron and Izetta O Chaney Cameron(Schrader) in Portland Oregon. She grew up with her brother Donald in what was then rural Gladstone Oregon. As far back as We can remember Zella (Susie) Cameron was always smiling, even though she was enduring a very difficult illness. She was ill most of her life yet found a way to reach out to those in spiritual need. Zella was a loving mother to five children though a single parent. She did what ever was necessary to make sure her children were fed, clothed, and in school. Zella's early life was one of extreme accomplishment. She and her brother Donald excelled at many sports and Zella was an avid swimmer who became a lifeguard. For most of her life Zella wrote poetry. She specifically loved to write spiritual poems. Zella married Wilber A Riggs in 1955 and gave birth to her first child Daniel. Zella went on to business school and started working for Starks Vacuums of Portland. Soon after she divorced and was left to raise her child by herself. Nearly 4 years later David was brought into this life. Two years after that her third child Starr was born. Soon after Zella gave birth to two more children that were adopted out and into two very loving homes. Being unable to provide for two more children wore hard on Zella. She raised all three children alone doing anything it took to keep her children thriving in a difficult environment. Later both Kevin and Karen were reunited with their birth mother and Zella was overjoyed throughout the remainder of her life for that. Zella had few material items in this life but, secured many treasures in heaven. Even though she endured a very difficult life Zella always found a way to smile and brought her cheerful nature into many lives. Zella was loved by many people throughout her life. We loved our mother very much and will miss her forever. We believe she is happier today than at any other time in her life. Zella loved Jesus Christ our Lord for the majority of her life and has finally made it home. Please be happy for Zella and her new life. We know she is happy and is praying for the rest of us still in this life.
