Mr. Alton J. Johnson, 79, of Potsdam, NY passed away May 7, 2016 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Funeral Service will be held the 11th at 3pm at the Garner Funeral Service with Rev. Lee Sweeney celebrant. Burial will follow the service at the West Stockholm Cemetery. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Wednesday from 1pm until the time of the service.
Alton is survived by several brothers and sisters; a stepson Kenneth Bickford; step daughter Sharon Sweeney; several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Ethel Johnson; step daughters Diana Foster and Cathy Bickford and 4 sisters and a brother.
Alton J. Johnson was born February 8, 1937 in Potsdam, NY to the late Donald Johnson and Luella Hayes. He was a self employed carpenter.
