Angelina M. Green

POTSDAM – Mrs. Angelina M. Green, 66, of Potsdam, formerly of Sandfordville, passed away on Monday morning, June 13, 2011 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she had been admitted on Sunday evening.

Angie was born September 29, 1944 in Potsdam, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Amatuli Giuliani. She graduated from Potsdam High School and from the Utica School of Beauty. On October 21, 1967, she married Robert P. Green at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Potsdam.

In 1966, she began working for Ray Bond at the Lady Fair Hairdressing. Angie also worked at her family’s business, The Roman Gardens, until it burned on January 21, 1970. After the fire, Angie purchased the hair salon and continued to operate as Lady Fair until her business grew and she joined with Ron Morrill as a partner, changing the name to Village Cutters. In 1987, Patsy Thornton joined as another partner; all working together until Angie’s retirement in 1996. She also taught private cooking lessons from her home during the 80’s and worked at the Shoreline Restaurant during the 90’s. Angie loved to cook and enjoyed catering having catered many wedding, anniversaries, birthdays, and holiday parties. She was a member of the Women of the Moose for many years and also enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, crocheting and knitting. Angie also loved watching birds and “Bob’s Garden”. Nearly three years ago, she became part of a Mah Jongg group, where they played weekly at Angie’s house.

Angie is survived by her husband, Robert; her two sons, Robert P. II and his wife, Becky and Shawn and his wife, Stacey, all of Potsdam; her grandsons, Kristian, Brent, Tyler, and Nathan Green; two brothers, Frank Giuliani, Pat Giuliani and his wife, Sandy, all of Potsdam; and her sister, Louise Masucci of Long Island. Angie is also survived by her mother-in-law, Arlene Green of Massena; her sister-in-law, Becky James and her husband, Bob, of Hannawa Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Mike Julian and Fred Giuliani and her father-in-law, Floyd Paul Green.

A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Potsdam with Msgr. Robert Aucoin, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Potsdam.

Memorial contributions may be made in Angie’s memory to the Potsdam Humane Society or the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Guild.
