Elizabeth J. Rush

Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Johns Rush, age 90 of Hannawa Falls, NY passed away on April 23rd at the United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton, NY where she had been a resident since 2013. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Monday from 2 to 4pm. Funeral service will be held at 4pm at the Garner Funeral Service, with Rev. William Cuthbert celebrant. Contributions in her memory can be made to United Helpers Maplewood Campus.

Betty is survived by her children Keith Rush; Judy Rush (David Johnson); Pam Rush (Ted Malpass); Brian Rush (JulieDolan) and Dale Rush. Grandchildren Anthony, Liam, Jamie, Erin, Jack and Zeke. A brother Edward (Marie) Johns and several niece and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Paul R. Rush, a sister Mildred Ann Johns and a brother Robert M. (Patricia) Johns.

Mrs. Elizabeth Johns Rush was born November 19, 1924 in Gouverneur, NY to Ralph Johns and Mildred Elizabeth McLean. She was a graduate of Massena Central School and then received her Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University. She then received her Masters in Counseling from Saint Lawrence University. She was the director of the Potsdam Neighborhood Center for many years and she enjoyed helping others, traveling, knitting, reading, and skiing. On line condolences can be sent at www.garnerfh.com.
