Billy Reeves Johnson

Billy Reeves “B.J.” Johnson, 81, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Friday November 3, 2017. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday November 9th at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel. Burial will follow in the Alabama Heritage Cemetery in Montgomery.

Mr. Johnson was born on January 2, 1936 in West Point, Mississippi to the late Ira Albright Johnson, Sr. and Florine Turner Johnson. He was a U.S. Army and served as an assistant chaplain. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Southern Union Junior College in Wadley, Alabama and had a background in theatrical acting. He was active in several business and trade organizations. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Horn.

He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Allen and Jannelle Johnson; a grandson, Jackie Edward Smith; a sister, Carol Ann Stewart; a brother, Ira Albright “Don” Johnson, Jr. and his wife Katherine; nieces and nephews, Thomas Hilton Stewart, Jr. and his wife, Angie, Phillip Wayne Stewart, Donnie Johnson, Roger Smith and his wife Diane, Peggy Kill and her husband, Jerry, Kelly Johnson; a close friend, Daniel Sellers and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alabama State Veterans Home Program. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
