Though born and raised in Riverside, CA, his career in the Air Force started at March Air Force Base, CA. During training, he met the love of his life at Keesler Air Force Base, MS in 1989 and moved to be with her in Puerto Rico, where he spent his most memorable years, transferring to the 156 Puerto Rico Air National Guard. There, they welcomed their two children before the family made their home in Alabama in 2003, transferring to the Alabama Air National Guard. He was a communication and navigation systems specialist and proudly served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, ultimately retiring from the 908 Air Force Reserves as a Master Sergeant. Post-retirement, David's dedication to serving others continued through his work in the civil service as a Systems Division Chief for the Judge Advocate General School at Maxwell Air Force Base, AL until his death. Outside of his professional life, he was a dedicated ham radio operator and enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with the ones he held most dearly.
