Edward Dyling

The Edward Raymond Dyling family is saddened to announce his passing on March 24, 2026, at his home in Deatsville, Al. Ed was born on April 12, 1949, to parents Raymond Dennis Dyling and Dorothy Rebecca Magaw Dyling in Wilmington, Delaware.

Having proudly served 24 years in the United States Air Force, he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. His service included tours at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama; Eglin Air Force Base, Valparaiso, Florida; Okinawa, Japan; Seoul, Korea; Adana, Turkey and England Air Force Base, Alexandria, Louisiana.

Ed was devoted to his service as deacon at Deatsville Baptist Church, Deatsville, Alabama. His relationship with Jesus was deep as he went about being a doer of the Word. He was kind and generous with his time and talents and his positive personality was an inspiration to anyone he met. Making a mean green salad and sharing the results of that talent was his delight. He was a skilled bowler, NASCAR enthusiast and an avid Penn State University fan.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 53 years, Linda Holland Dyling and sons Steven (Judee) and Mark (Marissa), granddaughter Isabella and Sukura the devoted family pet. Surviving siblings are Gary (Sandie) Dyling, Pennsville, New Jersey and Allan (Carol) Dyling, Little River, South Carolina, Marlene Luscombe, Niles, Ohio and Donna Heavilin, Medina, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his siblings Betty Jane Feehly, Frances Schneider, Charles Magaw, Martin Magaw, Donna Truitt, Ruth Ann Magaw, Raymond W. Dyling, John (Jack) Dyling and Deborah Wunderlich.

Celebration of life service will be held at Deatsville Baptist Church, 184 Church St.,Deatsville, Alabama on April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM with the visitation taking place from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. His will be interred at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM
