
Funeral services with military honors will be held Saturday August 23 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's Prattville with his nephew, Chaplain Gary Coburn, U.S.A.F. officiating. (Services were chaned to Ridout's main funeral chapel due to the extreme tempertures forcast for Satuday)
Mr. Coburn was born January 24, 1932 to the late John and Ruby Green Coburn. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran with over twenty five years of combined active and reserve service, including wartime service during the Korean War and Desert Storm Operations. He loved gardening, cooking and collecting antique John Deere tractors and during his teenage years worked at the Prattmont Drive-In, the family business.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Sherman Creel of Montgomery; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and June Coburn of Elmore; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and John Blow of Prattville; a sister-in-law, Hazel Coburn of Prattville; grandchildren Laura Henle, Luke (Stephanie) Coburn, Adam Coburn, Sarah (Tommy) Hunke, Shelby (Stuart) Rowe, Baker (Kara) Creel, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Adam Coburn, Baker Creel, Stuart Rowe, Tommy Hunke, H. Williams, and Harold Taylor.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tn.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:30AM to 1:45 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel.
