It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Thomas Parker of Hope Hull, Alabama who was affectionately known in his early years as "Tommy." George departed from this life on October 23, 2025, leaving a legacy of warmth, humor, and unwavering support for those fortunate enough to know him.
Born on the 4th of July in 1961 in Killeen Texas, the family always enjoyed fireworks for his birthday. George lived a life rich in experiences and defined by his ability to connect with people. He was, above all, a champion of the underdog, encouraging and lifting those around him. His gift for putting people at ease and walking in their shoes allowed him to empathize and relate to anyone.
George was a true caretaker, of people and of animals. He possessed a unique blend of encouragement, humor, and guidance that he generously shared with everyone in his life. His stories were legendary, told with charisma and charm that would weave a spell around his audience. Even in devastating circumstances, George found humor, a remarkable trait that helped everyone around him feel more at ease.
He embraced life, celebrating every moment and extracting goodness from each day. Tommy favored a challenge and met it head-on, whether it was tackling hard wood floors, building a barn from scratch, or tending a garden amid a drought. His resilience and determination were an inspiration.
George's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of 29 years Carol Anne, his siblings Ronald (Lisa) and Maureen (Jason), his longtime friends, and his work family. He leaves behind a world made brighter by his presence and a countless number of lives he touched with his boundless spirit.
A memorial service will be held on Friday October 24, 2025, at 3:00PM at Ridout-Browns Service Chapel, 347 E Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prattville/Autauga Humane Society in George's honor.
