

Gladys Farley Moore, 82, a longtime White City resident, passed away Sunday July 23, 2017, Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 27th at 1:00 PM at the White Pond Baptist Church with Pastors Donnie Burns and Doug Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the White City Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born February 28, 1935 to the late Patrick Henry Farley and Emma Pauline Litaker Farley. She and her husband Alton owned and operated the Alton Moore Grocery in White City from 1980 to 1995. Mrs. Moore was a longtime member of the White Pond Baptist Church. She enjoyed gathering with her friends to play dominos and cards. She will always be remembered for her kindness a willingness to help anyone in need.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Alton Moore; a sister, Johnnie Faye Farley Nobles and brother, George Herman Farley. She is survived by three sons, James A. Moore, Jr. and his wife Leasa of Huntsville, Ronnie W. Moore and his wife Marky of Jones, Danny R. Moore of White City; a brother and sister in law, Patrick and Virginia Farley; grandchildren Wendi Moore, John W. Moore and his wife Jennifer; a great grandson, Wyatt Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the White Pond Baptist Church.
