Huey B. Crowe

CROWE, Huey B., a resident of Millbrook, born February 7, 1936, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the age of 76 after a brief illness. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Ruby B. Crowe; son, Michael Crowe; daughter, Leah Armstrong; grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Beatty, Ben Crowe, Deliah Crowe, Susan Armstrong, A.J. Armstrong, and Caleb Crowe; great grandchildren, Riley Beatty, Katie Beatty, Tyler Beatty, Emilee Beatty, and James Armstrong; two brothers, Joe Crowe and Jerry Crowe; and friends too numerous to name. He was a faithful member of Tri City Baptist Church in Millbrook, AL and worked at International Mineral and Chemical Company and The Alabama Conservation Dept., Parks Division. He served his country in the National Guard 187th Division and retired after serving in the Air Force Reserve 908th Division. He loved helping others and enjoyed conversation with everyone he met. He was known for his love of hunting and telling hunting stories, and most well known for his great love and care of his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and his pastor and special friend, Tom Woodfin. The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Funeral Home in Prattville on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held the funeral home on Saturday, May 5 at 2:00 pm with his pastor, Tom Woodfin, officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Memorial Gardens in Millbrook. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Chaney, Fred Weafer, Jerry Partin, Russell Beasley, Bob Brents, Bob Jones, Tom Haynes, Wesley Monfee, Steve Keith, Dean Golden, Mike O’Bryant, Paul Johnson, Carl Salle, and Paul Gordon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tri City Baptist Church, PO Box 674, Millbrook, AL 36054 for their building fund or missions fund, or to the charity of your choice. The family of Huey Crowe will always remember with Christian love and deep appreciation the prayers, friendships, and comforting expressions of sympathy during this hard time.
