

TAYLOR, Marion Hall, of Birmingham, wife of the late George M. Taylor, Jr., and former long-time resident of Prattville, died on December 3, 2010, in Birmingham, Alabama, surrounded by her family. She is survived by Marion Taylor Renneker of Birmingham, Sarah Taylor Rogers of Dallas, Texas, and George Malcolm Taylor, III, and wife, Honey, of Birmingham. She is also survived by her brother, Elmore Clark Hall of Coosada, Alabama, and by ten grandchildren, David Coleman Yarbrough, Jr., of Montgomery, George Taylor Yarbrough of Atlanta, Georgia, Marion Renneker Fennell (Christopher) of Birmingham, Samantha Elizabeth Renneker of Richmond, Virginia, Eleanor Buckalew Rogers of Dallas, Foreman Arden Rogers, III, of Atlanta, Sarah Hawthorne Rogers of Dallas, and George Malcolm Taylor, IV, Lottice Howell Taylor and Emma Bolling Hall Taylor, all of Birmingham, and by son-in-law, Coleman Yarbrough of Montgomery. She was predeceased by her daughter, May Hall Taylor Yarbrough and by her grandson, Clinton Williams Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was born on October 26, 1913, in Coosada, Alabama, to the late Warren Douglas and Thera Clark Hall, and moved to Prattville in 1935 upon her marriage to George Taylor. She was active in many civic and church activities in Prattville, most notably the Service League, for which she served as President, and the Women of the Church of First Presbyterian Church for which she served for many years as Treasurer. In her early years she was an accomplished horsewoman and hunter. She was also an avid gardener and in later years developed a great love for the game of golf, which she shared with her husband. Mrs. Taylor will be remembered for her steadfast faith and her love for family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 6, at 2:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 211 Chestnut Street, Prattville, Alabama 36067, with visitation in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, Mississippi 39703, to the First Presbyterian Church of Prattville, or to the charity of your choice.
