

Mary J. Stockman Vinson, 75, of Prattville, passed away Friday January15, 2015. A Celebration of Life was held Monday January 18th at 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with Pastor Jim Voss officiating. She was laid to rest in Prattville Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Vinson was born in Linden, Alabama on July 6, 1940 to the late William Roscoe Stockman and Irene Combs Stockman. Mrs. Vinson loved the Lord and along with her husband Lewis, were both charter member of Heritage Baptist Church. Mrs. Vinson enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, visiting area nursing homes, helping with various veterans groups, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis B. Vinson, in 2001.
She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Cheryl and Bill Durbin of Prattville, Denise and Jim Voss of Tallassee; two sons and daughters in law, Randy and Paula Vinson of Baton Rouge, LA., Robert “Robbie” and Terri Vinson of Carlsbad, CA.; seven grandchildren, Heather Jacks, Brooke Devers, Holly Mellown, Stephanie Wood, Mary Beth Durbin, Sara Voss, Robbie Vinson; seven great grandchildren, Taylor Mellown, Bella Mellown, Gibson Mellown, Liam Jacks, Caroline Mellown, Will Devers and Isabelle Jacks; five brothers and four sisters in law, Samuel Stockman, Harold and Ann Stockman, Lloyd and Carolyn Stockman, Jim and Dianne Stockman, Comer and Jean Stockman.
Pallbearers were Robbie Vinson, Eric Jacks, Zach Devers, Matt Mellown, Nathanael Wood and Christopher Fuller.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
