LEDBETTER, Miriam Estes, of Coosada, Alabama and recently Dayton, Ohio passed away at the Inn At Renaissance Village, Assisted Living, in Middletown, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Amos Ledbetter and her son Roger Ledbetter (Patricia). She is survived by her son Harold, grandsons Jon and Landon (Kadey), her sister Edna Murray, several nieces and nephews, and their families.
In addition, she is mourned by numerous friends in the Coosada and Millbrook areas where she lived for over 35 years as well as other cities where she served as a pastor’s wife. She was a longtime member of Coosada Baptist Church and an active participant in the Friendship Sunday School Class and Commorados. Her passion was growing vegetables and flowers, and her yard was a place of beauty for all who passed. She loved music and sang in church choirs for many years and played the organ at home. She was a loving wife, caring mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished friend.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Jon and Landon Ledbetter, nephew Dave Bennett, David Roundtree, Phillip Hicks, and Randy Naylor. Honorary pallbearers are Coach Conrad Henderson, Dave Shoemaker, Gordon Beasley, and Coolidge Sims.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 Coosada Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Graham officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior in the sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in memory of Amos and Miriam Ledbetter to the Beeson Divinity School Scholarship Fund, Samford University, 800 Lakeshore Drive, Birmingham AL 35229.
