It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved brother, uncle, devoted son and faithful friend, Shayne O’Neil Herrod on April 15th, 2026. He was a compassionate soul whose kindness extended far beyond words. His love of all animals was more than a hobby; it was a calling. He took in elderly dogs to provide them with a safe loving home in their later years. He carried on the family legacy by managing Tuff E Nuff Stables.
He is survived by his sisters, Nelda (Donnie) Hix, Cindy Herrod, and brother Sid (Kellie) Herrod; nieces Stacy (Dustin) Casey, Kacey (Joe) Powell, Callie (Chris) Lathan, Sydney Herrod and nephew Kyle Herrod and other numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends that are considered family.
Shayne has requested that no services be held. In lieu of flowers he has asked that all donations be made to Prattville/Autauga Humane Shelter at P.O. Box 680697, Prattville, AL 36068.
