

Mr. Rucker served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a meat cutter with thirty years of service as a Civil Service Employee. He loved bringing old John Deere Tractors back to life. He was always ready to share a laugh in conversation and could light up a room with his presence. He loved God, family and church, and was a member of First Assembly of God in Millbrook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lee Rucker, Sr. and Alma Belle Rawlinson Rucker. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marilyn Ann Bittner Rucker; sons, Thomas Lee Rucker, III, John Charles (Tracy) Rucker; daughter, Mary Ann Rucker Pate (Rev. Eddie); sister, Maxine Rucker Singleton; six grandchildren, Crystal Lynn Rucker, Christopher Lee Rucker, Brian Austin Rucker, James Matthew Pate, Rachel LeAnn Pate, Brittany Morgan Rucker; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his honor to the First Assembly of God Building Fund, 3511 Shirley Lane, Millbrook, AL 36054.
Funeral services were held at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2013 with Rev. Eddie Pate and Rev. Chuck Glasscock officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
