DRURY, Virginia Ruth Hall “Ginny”, age 64, of Prattville, went to be with her Savior Tuesday, January 3, 2011 following nine years of increasing dementia, cared for at home in her last days by her husband and son. A beloved PE teacher, Special Education teacher, Sunday School teacher, AWANA leader, wife and mother, Ginny lived with a pure, contented heart filled with love for God and others, a soul filled with the joy of the Lord, a mind filled with the Word of God, a constant prayer upon her lips, hands that cared for those around her, and a life that exalted Christ. Ginny often would ask people she met, “Do you know God loves you? Do you know He sent his Son Jesus to die for you? And, that if you trust Jesus as your Savior, you’ll go to be with Him in Heaven one day?” A native of Maryland, TN, Ginny is survived by LtCol (Ret. USAF) Tom Drury, her husband of 38 years, and Tommy Drury, her son, as well as her brothers Jim (Peggy) and Joe Hall, and her sister Pam (Bill) Warrington of Crossville, TN area. Ginny was a 1969 graduate of Belmont College (now University), in Nashville, TN, where she and Tom met, and faithfully accompanied him around the world, living in Panama City, FL; Shaw AFB, SC; Dayton, OH; Austin, TX; RAF Wethersfield, UK; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and other places. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time. A homegoing service will be held at East Memorial Baptist Church in Prattville Friday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM conducted by Bro. Jim Whorton, after which she will be taken to Crossville, TN for another service and burial at Mayland Baptist Church Cemetery, where she faithfully attended as a child.
