

LOVETT, William Albert (SFC Ret.), a resident of Prattville, Alabama, passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 27, 2024. Mr. Lovett's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Ridout's Brown Service Prattville Chapel.
Mr. Lovett was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur V. and Mary Noblet Lovett; and his stepson, Dennis L. Wise, Jr. Mr. Lovett is survived by his loving wife, Jean Ludwig Wise Lovett, a former high school sweetheart whom he married in December 1981 after chasing her for 22 years. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Jill Lovett of Lock Haven, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Woody F. Wise (Alicia Wise) of Hudson, FL, Daniel M. Chestnut of Jacksonville, FL, Andrew Chestnut of Hudson, FL, and Annie Rose Chestnut of Prattville, AL; great-grandchildren, Lillian Wise, Gabriel Wise, Ethan Chestnut, Elliana Chestnut, and Piper Chestnut; daughter-in-law, Paula Gates (Michael John Patrick) of Deatsville, AL; his sister in Christ, Deborah Stearns Woodard, Montgomery, AL; grandson in Christ, J.W. Woodard, Atlanta, Georgia; aunt and uncle, David and Mary Fetzer, Ethridge, TN; aunt, Augusta Fetzer, Lamar, Pennsylvania; one brother-in-law, his wife, one niece and nephew by marriage, of Atlanta, GA.
Mr. Lovett graduated from Lock Haven High School in Pennsylvania June 7, 1960. He obtained an Associate Degree in Computers from Williamsport Community College in Pennsylvania. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Resource Management from Troy State University-Montgomery December 7, 1995. He was a member of Glynwood Baptist Church where he served his Lord in several different ministries. He was ordained a Deacon in 2014.
Mr. Lovett retired from the Computer Department of Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania in 1981, from Active Duty with the Alabama Army National Guard Headquarters on October 1, 2000, after 23 years of service and from the Alabama Department of Public Health January 1, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to one's favorite charity.
