Albert passed away peacefully at Prince George Hospice on October 18, 2026, at the age of 96, having lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, joy, hard work, adventure, and cherished memories. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Katherine; their children, Marlene and Lenny, Robert and Alina, and Bernadette and Denis; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who will hold him close in their hearts.
Albert was born on May 20, 1930, in Stuartburn, Manitoba, to Franciska and Joseph Glazer, who immigrated to Canada with their eldest daughter, Nellie, in 1927. Albert and his siblings, Nellie, Sophie, Roy, and Walter, were raised in Vita, Manitoba, where family, faith, hard work, and helping others were not simply values, but a way of life.
In 1954, Albert married Katherine, the love of his life and his partner in everything. Together, they shared 72 wonderful years, building a life filled with treasured memories. Their love and devotion to one another were the foundation of the family they created.
In 1966, Albert followed his passion for construction to Prince George, where he co-founded WKG Home Builders. While other family members and friends moved away, Prince George was always home to Albert and he never wanted to live anywhere else. This was his community. He enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, fishing, and later in his life, Bednesti Lake became a particularly special gathering place for Albert and Katherine, where family and friends came together to share countless treasured moments.
Albert built much more than houses. He built a family, lasting friendships, a strong sense of community, and a lifetime of memories. The structures he created may stand for years to come, but his greatest legacy lives on in the people he loved, the values he passed down, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and friends.
It is fitting that Albert will be laid to rest beside his parents at St. Isadore Cemetery in Vita, returning to the community where his life began and the church he helped build—a lasting connection to the Catholic faith, family, and community that shaped him.
Rest peacefully. We hope heaven has a well-equipped workshop, a beautiful garden, and a big table ready for family gatherings. We suspect you will soon have a project underway—and if anything needs straightening, heaven is about to discover what “Albert's way” really means!
The funeral service will be held on November 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, located at 3285 Cathedral Avenue, Prince George, BC. A luncheon reception will follow the service, where family and friends are invited to gather and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Prince George Hospice.
