Alfred immigrated to Canada in 1953, purchased his first acreage in 1955 and married his wife Christine of 68 years in 1957.
He was a man made of Cranbrook Hill dirt. He could spin a loader like a top and had the fullest smile when he had a fish on the line. Alfred was simultaneously both happiest and full of vinegar when he was checking cattle or driving around in circles bailing hay. But that’s farming, isn’t it?
He respected the land and it respected him back by helping him to create an oasis for his family. Alfred leaves behind his wife Christine; his four children Heidi, Wolfgang, Erwin, and Ron; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
