Born in Prince George, British Columbia to Eugene and Myrtle Nesbit, Anthony spent his life deeply rooted in the community he called home.
Family was the center of Anthony's life. He was a devoted husband and a proud, loving father who cherished his daughters above all else. He was always there to offer guidance, encouragement and support; and took great pride in the women they became. Friends and family knew him as a kind, respected and dependable man who was always willing to lend a hand or share his knowledge and life experiences. At the age of 18, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a peacekeeper; an accomplishment he was immensely proud of and spoke about often throughout his life.
Anthony had a lifelong passion for the forestry industry, particularly tree falling; a profession he dedicated much of his life to. Outside of work he enjoyed technology, especially computers, working on cars and maintaining a cherished rock collection that reflected his appreciation for the natural world. Whether he was out searching for interesting stones, repairing one of his vehicles, helping maintain his daughters' cars, or simply admiring the flowers, watching birds, or searching for animal tracks, he found joy in the simple things nature had to offer. He loved both of his grandsons dearly but shared an especially close bond with Jayden. Together, they spent countless hours building LEGO creations, playing games and making memories that will be cherished forever.
Fourteen years ago, Anthony was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer. Throughout his illness, he faced each challenge with remarkable determination. He said he wanted to keep fighting because he wanted his grandchildren to remember him.
Anthony will be remembered for his strength, generosity, quiet wisdom, unwavering love for his family and the example he set through a life of hard work, resilience and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
