OBITUARY

Arlene Jean Fischer (nee Gray, Andrychuk, Roan)

29 July, 1936 – 23 April, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Assman's Funeral Chapel

Arlene was born in Marwayne, Alberta; she was an only surviving twin.

She is predeceased by her husband Herbert Fischer; brother Craig; sister Pat; her children Dawn and Darren; son-in-law Don; grandchildren Glen, Cameron, Brian and Katie; great-grandchildren Clare, Amelia, Madeline and Harvey. She will be missed by her long time friend and sister-in-law Donna and many nieces and nephews, as well as her lifelong dear friends Noni, Bev and Tillie.

Arlene was a BC elementary school teacher for 40 years. She started teaching in a one room school in Silverdale and then in Mission City and, for many years, in Langley. She taught many, many children how to read.

After retiring, she and Herb moved to Vernon and lived there for over thirty years. She loved to travel and she and Herb spent years campground hosting for BC Parks. She also volunteered at the Vernon hospital for many years after she retired.

She lived her last four years in Prince George to be closer to her family.

She was lots of fun and often funny and would say “You can never be too rich or too thin.” We will miss her dearly.
