It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of a truly great man, Brian Glowacki, on the 29th at hospice, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by those who loved him most. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He leaves his kindness, generous spirit, strength and dependability as an example for us all to strive towards.
He was predeceased by his parents Tony and Mary; his brother-in-law Gord. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Jeannine; children Cole, Kyle and Brieanne; granddaughter Hazel. He also leaves behind his sister Irene and nieces Debbie and Vicky.
He was a big man in every sense of the word--big as life with a personality to match. Underneath that larger than life presence was a soft-hearted, kind and generous spirit with a kindness that made him special to many. Throughout his diverse working life, he moved from kitchens of remote camp chef to the open roads as a salesman, traversing the length and breadth of British Columbia. This unique journey allowed him to make many connections, touching countless lives along the way through his love of food and cooking.
He was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life, most of all his deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was trolling a line on his favourite Trembleur Lake, walking the ocean beach with his granddaughter, relaxing at the cabin with his sister, or heading up the rivers with his many dogs. The kitchen was always warm with something on the go, preparing a feast for those he loved. He brought passion and warmth to everything he did. Above all, his family was his greatest anchor and truest joy. He leaves only in body as the memories and moments he gave us will be everlasting within us all.
