It is with saddened hearts, that we post the news of the passing of Bruce Alan Burn. Born in Prince Rupert, BC July 1947, he passed away peacefully in Prince George, BC November 5th, 2025 with family by his side.
He grew up in Prince Rupert, BC an idyllic little North Coast town, still in its heyday. He enjoyed all it had to offer to its fullest. Whether it was Cow Bay on the waterfront, or the numerous trails to explore, playing baseball, and later basketball with his beloved Rainmakers.
He met his wife Ingrid, and the two were married in 1971. It was in Prince Rupert that they raised their two children Robert and Carrie. Bruce worked for the local pulp mill, as so many young men did at that time. It was there that Bruce became passionate about workers rights, safety and safe work practices. He worked tirelessly for the benefits of his coworkers, leading him into his retirement job, as a WCB (WSBC) officer/inspector throughout BC. He truly cared and wanted everyone to go home safely to their families at the end of a work day.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Irene Burn. His wife Ingrid, who reached the milestone of over 50 years of marriage together, of which they were both extremely proud. He is survived by his son Robert (Deanne and daughter Michelle), daughter Carrie (Ivan) and his granddaughters Cameron (Aaron), Ferris and Sloane. Bruce was also able to experience the joy of being a great grandfather to Cameron and Aaron’s children, Tucker and Revan.
He loved his sunshine, beaches, exotic locations, and exploring the world. But most of all he loved his family. He will be dearly missed by us all. He was a blessing to his family and community.
As per Bruce’s request there is no formal church service. A graveside gathering and burial will be held on November 17th, 2025 at 1:30pm at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kelowna. Any and all who wish to pay their last respects to Bruce (BB) Burn, are all welcome to attend.
At peace now and forever in the presence of his Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen, and God bless you all.
