It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Sue Wolfe ( Grist), 72, of Prince George, BC. Cindy passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Barry and Elsa Grist.
Cindy’s greatest passion was her family. To everyone who knew her, she was simply “Mom.” She had a love for music and dancing, whether it was square dancing, round dancing, or a lively kitchen dance with family and friends. Cindy was a long time member of the Northern Twisters Club of Prince George (Over 25 years)
A devoted volunteer, Cindy gave countless hours to her community. When her daughters were young, she volunteered at their school and became a brownie leader (Brown Owl was her leader name). She later dedicated many years of service to the Salvation Army, helping with the food bank, Christmas kettles, and Emergency Disaster Services. She was also a proud member of the Prince George Amateur Radio Club for 22 years, providing emergency communications and supporting numerous community events. Cindy was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Norman Lake held a special place in Cindy’s heart and was her favorite place to be. She also loved baking and was well known for her incredible cinnamon buns, which many considered to be the best. Her homemade soups—especially her pea soup and chicken noodle soup—were family favorites. Above all, Cindy gave the warmest hugs and had a way of making everyone feel loved and welcome.
Cindy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her beloved husband, Ken; her daughters, Jennifer (Aaron Dickie) and Lori (Chris Wolfe); her cherished grandchildren, Nolan, Devin, Hunter, Kaylia, and Jennessa; her sister, Debbie (Dale) Gammie; her brother, Doug (Karna) Grist; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Cindy’s memory to Prince George Rotary Hospice House or the BC Cancer Centre for the North in Prince George.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near.”
