Donald Christopher MacKay

Don was so lucky in his life to do the things he loved. Logging, watching the trees grow on his woodlot, raising cattle, farming his land and being with his family and friends. He was blessed in so many ways.

It is with great sadness that the MacKay family announce the passing of Donald Christopher MacKay on June 30, 2026.

Donny is survived by his wife, Sharon, sons Dean (Janice) and James, his sister Dorothy Wilson, sister-in-law Beatrice MacKay, and grandsons Kirk, Connor, and Clark. He is pre-deceased by his parents Chris and Elva and his brothers Robert (Bob) and David (Dave).

A celebration of life will be held Saturday September 5, 2026 at 1pm at Hixon Community Hall.

The family would like to thank the Hixon Fire Department. The community is lucky to have such a great bunch of first responders.
