Eileen Fraida Thompson

Helen was born February 29, 1932, in Rocanville, Saskatchewan, to Agnes and Robert Shopland. This meant she celebrated her birthday every four years, making her 23 years old.

Helen began her long working career as a telephone operator and moved to Wappella, Saskatchewan to work in the telephone office in 1952. It was there, in 1955, she met Glenn Thompson. They married in September 1956 and then moved to Fort St. John, BC. Helen had four children: Sharon, Susan, Kevin and Michael.

Helen owned the Hobby Shop in Fort St. John for many years, then after selling, worked at the Hudson Bay.

Helen enjoyed working, curling, golfing, knitting, babysitting grandchildren and cherished spending time with her dear friends and teammates.

Helen is predeceased by her parents, her nine siblings and her husband Glenn Thompson.

Helen is survived by daughters Sharon (Leonard), Susan (Sandy) and sons Kevin (Pam) and Michael (Toni), her Grandchildren Ashandra, Shalen, Danaca, Matthew, Kyle, Melissa, Justin, and great-grandchildren Sullivan, Walter, Neva, Kinsley, Rose and Beau.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

A Celebration of Life for Helen may be held in the future.
