

Left to mourn her loss are her children, Gwen Tallman, Rob Sims (Barb), Heather Sims, Patty Lambkin (Brian), Don Sims, Sharon Orich (Al) and Ed Sims (Nicole) as well as 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Betty also leaves her sister Joyce Straub of Winnipeg, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by the love of her life Harvey Sims, her parents Chester and Alice Wickum, 5 brothers, Barry, Bill, Allan, Mervin and Boyd, son-in-law Lloyd Tallman and grandson Michael Sims.
Betty spent many years following her husband and best friend through the northern bush country, raising her children. Betty and Harvey spent the last 14 years in the North with their store at Ingenika Point before returning to Prince George where she retired.
A Memorial Service will be held in Betty's honour at Assman’s Funeral Chapel (1908
Queensway) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
Betty will be missed by many and loved and remembered for her coffee and food, never letting anyone walk away from her table hungry. May she rest in peace.
