Betty passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her eldest son Rod in 1994; her husband Ray in 2001 and her youngest son George in 2014. Betty is survived by her daughter’s-in-law Marilyn (Dean) and Shelly. She adored her grandchildren Rick, Rae-Lynn, Brandon and Steven and her 9 great grandchildren.
Betty was born in Prince George and lived many of her childhood years in Isle Pierre and Ft. St. James. Growing up with two brothers (Bud and Ben, both deceased), she grew up learning how to hunt and fish and truly loved the outdoors--something she and Ray instilled in their boys in later years. She could forage the forest floor and could identify every bird she saw, a testament to time spent in the wilderness.
Betty loved to be in her kitchen, preparing feasts for her family and friends. After Ray’s retirement and until his passing, they spent many summers at Francois Lake, their heaven on earth. Betty was a true friend to all and will be deeply missed. Many thanks to Dr. Geddes for his years of unwavering care, and to the staff at Gateway.
There will be no service at Betty’s request.
