IN THE CARE OF

Assman's Funeral Chapel

Gerald Francis Storie, aged 90, peacefully passed away on March 21, 2026 at the University Hospital of Northern BC surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 11, 1936 in Ottawa.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents; his son Raymond Brent Storie; his granddaughter Evelyn Derish nee Storie (Josh Derish) and his sister Maxine Storie.

He is survived by his long-time partner of 44 years Marilynn Goetjen; his brother Delbert Storie as well as his children Ross Storie and Lance (Colleen) Storie; stepson Jamey Goetjen (Serena).

He also leaves behind many grandchildren including Madelaine Aitken (Levi Aitken), Michelle Davidson, Leslee Derrick, Calla-Rae Storie and Serena Storie; along with great-grandchildren Alazahia Derish, Kaleiha Aitken, Audrina Aitken, Autumn Aitken and Braydon Davidson. Additionally he is remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.

Affectionately known as “Gerry” by his family and friends he moved to Prince George in 1964 where he raised his family and purchased a home on Manson Crescent--a place full of memories for his children and grandchildren. Gerry was known for his quiet demeanor and simple lifestyle.

He worked briefly for the City of Prince George before dedicating over 30 years of service to Finning from which he retired. In his leisure time he took great pleasure in maintaining his property on Manson Crescent, working on his beloved red Chevrolet truck and spending time with lifelong friends Ron and Pam Gettling. Gerry was also an avid reader, particularly enjoying John Grisham novels and he valued his daily walks.

At the family’s request, no formal service will be held at this time but a Celebration of Life may occur at a later date.

Gerald Storie’s notable words reflect his outlook on aging: “There are two ways of getting old.”

Any donations in memory of Gerald can made to the Prince George Hospice House & Heart and Stroke Foundation!
