After a valiant and determined fight to survive numerous surgeries and procedures, our dear little gift from God was called home to heaven to live with Jesus. Though she only lived with us for 7 weeks, we know her life touched many people and she has had an impact on us all. Islay is survived by her loving parents, Chris and Ashley Thomas, her big sister, Elysabeth, her grandparents, Jonathan and Arlene Thomas, and Don and Kerry Solmonson, great grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a large family of friends.A special thanks to her surgeon, Dr. Campbell and the medical staff at PICU in B.C. Childrens Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15 at Lakewood First Memorial Funeral Home, 1055 Ospika Blvd, 250-562-5915. Pastor Jonathan Thomas officiating. Public viewing is at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to a fund established in Islay’s memory to help children with medical needs in orphanages.
