My name is Jason Olexyn. I am a teacher at Heather Park Elementary. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with James for 3 years. 
What can I say about James? When I think of James, I see a true Hart boy. When I say that, I don't mean it as a slander, being a Hart boy myself, I say it with pride, It is reassuring knowing that guys like James carry on the Hart boy tradition. Those who are from the Hart know exactly what I'm talking about. But in a nutshell, a Hart boy drives a truck, has a snowmobile and a quad, and likes working on fast cars. A Hart boy also cherishes his community, friends and his family. So in essence, James was the epitome of a Hart boy in my eyes.
As stated earlier, there are three things that come to mind when talking about James; muscle cars, snowmobiles, and trucks. If you get James talking about those, he was an awesome storyteller. On Monday morning, he’d tell me stories about fixing trucks with his dad and his grandfathers, going snowmobiling with his friends, he’d show me the latest square body that came up for sale, or talk about the old trucks in the fields between here and Kamloops,  or give me a recap on the latest episode of Rust Valley Restorers that he watched. It was always my favorite part of going into work on Monday morning.
When you talked to James, you knew exactly what you were getting. He was real. He told you exactly what he thought and was straight up about it. That’s a characteristic of a Hart boy that I admire. I consider myself lucky to have crossed paths with James, He truly was inspiring. He taught me about resilience, perseverance and determination. On numerous occasions I would remind him how tough he was.
Thank you James. You helped me put a lot of things in perspective. You will definitely be missed, but NEVER forgotten. I’m sure, wherever you are, you’re driving a late 70’s square body, with a snowmobile in the back, heading to the mountains to go sledding with some buddies.

James was such a sweet boy who loved is little sister.  He had so much bravery and lived his life to the best he could. His parents and grandparents filled his life of love. He is not alone

Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever. 
James was a very special young person. 
Always in jeans and cowboy boots.
I remember him coming to school one day in a new pair of cowboy boots,
He told me that they were given to him from a family member. 
He was so proud of those boots!
He loved to draw square body trucks and the Chevy sign.

Hello I’m Heidi whitcomb, I’ve known James since we were little kids going to heather park together and it has had a big impact on me to hear of James’s passing. Our love for square body’s always brought up a conversation between us. Jame will always be remembered in my mind and heart ❤️🛻
