OBITUARY

Joseph Bush

5 November, 1928 – 26 June, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Assman's Funeral Chapel

Ninety-seven years ago, Joe was born in the Mud River farming community. His parents died in 1941 and 1942, so Joe and brother Costo stayed with the Malaguenas family until they were old enough to venture out on their own.

Dad found work in southern Alberta, as a farm hand. In the spring of 1947, he came back to Prince George and began working with the CNR until retirement in 1988.

The Railroad was a perfect fit, dad loved to travel. Dad also took pictures of EVERY trip we took, lots of pictures! He was still sneaking off on his own up to two years ago, we would stop for lunch and find out he had been to Jasper for lunch the day before…or I was just going to go to Chetwyn for a drive but it was only 10 am and too early for lunch so I decided to make the loop through Hudson Hope to Dawson and back home!!! And yes, more pictures.

Joe is predeceased by his wife Staphca. He is survived by Sharon(Cliff), Steve(Cyndi), Mike(Shirlee), 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Thanks to the PG Hospice House for the wonderful care, he received.

There will be a service at Assman’s Funeral Chapel on July 23, 2026 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to PG Hospice House or the Humane Society would be appreciated.
