It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Dejonghe; son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, grandpa and great grandpa. He passed peacefully at the Prince George Hospice House with his loving family by his side on April 16, 2025. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marjorie (Laurenson) Dejonghe on February 21, 2023. He was Born in Dryden, Ontario, February 27, 1935, married in 1956 and many years and five children later they moved to Saskatchewan and then on to British Columbia and set in roots that would last over 50 years. He will be remembered for his hard work as a millwright, his love of the outdoors; gold panning, fishing, hunting, camping and playing sports; mostly curling. He was an avid curler and the curling rink became his second home for years as he not only played but also made the ice and maintained it for a few years. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the support and love received during this difficult time including the staff at the Prince George Hospice House, Dr. Bartell, Dr. Mansour and Dr. Mader. Also the numerous doctors and the loving and caring nurses (especially Taya) at the UHNBC.
